I think there was an East Carson report in the last week on
www.anglernet.net May have been in Calif, but close enough.

Check out What's Hot and What's Not from Fish First. The last report was 23
September. You can go to www.fishfirst.com.

I've bee fishing it on both the Ca and NV side. Fishing right now is very
good. The CA catch and release section has a lot of rainbows, and
occasionally you can get one up to 16". Where the access is bad in NV, the
fishing is good. Near town it is fished out. NDFG put a lot of 11" browns
in the river a month ago, and they are doing well. There are also a lot of
smaller wild rainbows.
You need primarily 4 flies; grasshoper, tan caddis(12), royal coachman, and
adams (both 16). There is an occasional trico hatch in the morning but I
have not seen anything keying on them. There aslo some small tan mayflies
that are occasionally important.
If you're going to fish the Carson, do it before we get any good frosts,
which are not far away. Hope you practice catch and release. Most of this
river is not planted, and the wild fish need help.
