I've already stated that this is Randy's year... he's just gotta work
through not having the Nitro and learn for himself that he can do it from
anyones boat.

I believe that Warren will actually catch keeper bass, and most likely will
be all smallmouth. I'll put you in second, but only by a few ounces. Oh
yeah... and no dog-fish this year.

Jerry will not lose a prop this year, but I can see him and Jim Laumann
fishing together catching huge numbers of pike, with a muskie added as a
bonus. He'll remember his Mega-Strike on day two to pull him out of a hole.

DO NOT USE BLACK SPINNERBAITS. Gold is fine, but the only thing that's going
to be caught on black is pike!

The most recent and accurate list is on OutdoorFrontiers at
http://www.outdoorfrontiers.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=208&start=15

Just scroll down and you'll see the list of boaters and non-boaters.

As far as predictions, here's a little tidbit of information for all of you.
Last weekend, the Hodag Bassmasters had a Two Day Open Tournament on Boom
Lake. I talked to the tournament director on the phone last night and got
the following info.

There were 32 boats with two anglers in each boat, 168 legal length bass
were weighed during the two days of fishing. The winning weight after two
days was 38 pounds of bass. The average weight bass was approximately 3
pounds. This tournament has a Big Largemouth and a Big Smallmouth prize.
The weight for the biggest largemouth was 4.43 pounds, and the winning
smallmouth weighed in at 4.43 pounds as well.

So, no sniveling about "there are no bass in Boom Lake." I know better.

Nope, last year, they had 50 boats, and caught even more fish. Plus, if I
remember correctly, the big smallmouth of the tourney was larger than the
largemouth.

Bla bla bla...You feed us the same thing every year! I think you get a
kick out of watching us fish for bass in that place. It is likely
devoid of all bass right up until the weekend before the NWC when fish
& game stocks 5 fish for you. You are one sadistic mofo ya know? ;-)

I said before and I still stand by it.

it will take 5 fish on one of the days and 4 fish on the other of the
days to win this thing.

But there are WA_A_A_A__A-Y too many "unknowns" in the list on Steve's
web site. Look for a newcomer to place in the top three.....

Also, Huber's finally figured out that he can win the thing without
offending anyone, so he's a contender for 1st place.

I won't be there to pre fish other than Thursday......it always takes me
3 days to figure out a lake --- I'm eyeing the door prizes and hoping to
have gas money home.

Right you are Fritz.....

If the NWC attendees recall, in 2001 (the very first NWC), Steve
caught a fish that went - if memory serves - in the 2.5# range - a
fish that could have helped him win. He claimed at the time that he
had a memory lapse and released it, and only after releasing it, did
it hit him as to what he had done.

I wondered about it then, and am strongly thinking now - that he
deliberately let it go. Steve - that was a class act. Well done.

No, I think Steve spaced out & let it go.

If Steve had done that intentionally we would have never known it happened.

Great guy all the same though. But he really wants to win one of these
things - I think he hasn't missed one yet...

Well if any patterns hold, I will catch 2 fish. 1 largemouth and 1
smallmouth. Last yesr it was the same. and the year before. No fish each of
the first days, then 2 fish on the second day. First year it was two
smallies and the second year it was 2 LM. and for those of you that might
find that a bit discouraging..... I finished 4th the first year and second
last year.. My prediction?

Steve Huber
Warren Wolk will both be in top 3

Jerry Barton and Harry Jenkins will battle for one of the top 3 spots...

Kevin and me will shake our heads saying"WTF" grab a case of beer and bobber
fish from shore on day two.... we will both tie for 4th having both hooked
the same 4lb LM in a drunken stupor. We will also be joined by Dan later in
the day and fish for crappies for some nice fillets for dinner. Now how's
that for a prediction!!!!!!!
