looks like we're gonna get hit hard here- with wind at least. rain started
yesterday afternoon, and as the evening progressed, became quite heavy. the
winds also picked up- strong as hell. this morning they have been clocked
at 25-30 mph, with gusts of 50. i have a window inside my shower area that
i lined with seashells; the wind is blowing them off the windowsill as we
speak, and my kitchen window is open, causing some of my cupboard doors to
fly open. papers on my desk have to secured, as they started blowing
around when i opened the front door, and as i sit at my computer, my hair is
being blown around as if i were right out there. no rain right now, though.
i'm thinking of heading out for a morning walk.

appalachian state cancelled classes for today because of the weather- a rare
occurrence. i can dig it; gives me more time to study for next week's
exams, and maybe get *ahead* on some of my reading for other classes.

how is it off the mountain my n.c. neighbors? ya'll take care- 'specially
there in the piedmont. i heard on n.p.r. that ya'll have some flood
warnings in effect ......

ah, billy, such a friend you are. we here in the piedmont of the old
north state are safe as bugs in a rug. actually, i spent the weekend at the
coast, playing acoustic guitar in my son's rock band, and getting hassled by
the cops.

low pay, but not a bad life.

Fun to hang with "young" people now and again.
