View Full Version : DDFS final update

Tim J.
December 22nd, 2004, 08:59 PM
The DDFS flies are separated and packaged. The people who sent return
postage and packaging will have their flies sent tomorrow. The people
who chucked in a few bucks along with return packaging should also have
theirs sent tomorrow. The people who sent money for postage but no
return packaging stand a slight chance of getting theirs mailed
tomorrow, depending on box availability. My international friends may
have to wait until next week, 'cause Timmaaay ain't going anywhere NEAR
a post office between now and Christmas.

All swappers: One thing to remember for future swaps is that although
*you* may have tied teeny tiny flies that fit in a teeny tiny fly box,
other swappers tie flies that will take up the whole box by themselves,
and be crushed by the built-in dividers in the process. I would suggest
something the size of a VCR-tape box with one large single compartment.
The USPS has Priority Mail boxes you can pick up for free. I'll let it
slide 'cause I'm a nice guy, but Frank will have your ass come February.

Now that I've said it, it should be fine Frank. Sometimes people have to
hear it from someone they like and trust. . .

.. . . and Merry Christmas, ya old fart. :)

Yeah, like the word "final" really has any meaning here. ;-)

The following batches of flies were mailed today:
Big Dale Wilkerson
Chris "Padishar Creel"
Frank Reid
John "JR"
Paul "bouncer"
Randy "bugcaster"
Svend Tang-Petersen
Wayne Patton
Stan Gula

Unfortunately, FedEx never came through like the commercials say, and
Wayne Knight's *second* batch of flies never arrived either, although
the tracking has said "in transit" all day. That means your return
packages are light by one fly. My apologies to Wayne for not being able
to wait any longer, but I had to get these things shipped. The good news
is that at some point I'll be the proud owner of 30 patriots. :) What
I'll do is ship these back when they arrive, minus the ones for the
remaining packages to be shipped, to give him a head start for Frank's
GFS.

Thanks, swappers. These are truly a great looking bunch.

time-honoured, original version of BMIA.

Two things:
Bite my peter in advance?
You misspelled "honored" ;-)

Merry Christmas, my friend. BTW, Wayne Knight's Patriots showed up today
a day late, so Wayne should at least get a refund from Fed-Ex. It is a
*very* nice tie and I wish I'd been able to wait one more day. In the
truest of Christmas spirits, I will gladly mail a copy of this fly to
the following swappers if they will just email me at kpos3wt at comcast
dot net their snail-mail addys:

Big Dale Wilkerson
Chris "Padishar Creel"
Frank Reid
John "JR"
Paul "bouncer"
Randy "bugcaster"
Svend Tang-Petersen
Wayne Patton

Yes, I know I should have them stored somewhere, but I don't so BMPIA.

P for Powlesland. Jim Powlesland, a Canuckian as I recall, got
horribly hot under the collar every time Tim Walker posted one
of his anti-CR polemics/trolls and would fire up the vituperation
for which roff is justly famous in response, so T-Bone took to
appending BMPIA to his posts.

I'm sure there are plenty I've missed, but this one now resides in a
place of honour. ;-)

This morning I mailed Wayne Knight his batch-o-flies and sent Wayne's
contribution to Frank, Randy, and Dale via regular USPS 1st class mail.
I still need mailing addys for:
Chris "Padishar Creel"
John "JR"
Paul "bouncer"
Svend Tang-Petersen
Wayne Patton
if you gentlemen would like Wayne's fly mailed to you, and I'm holding
one as ransom for Stan to share a glass of port (hope you're feeling
better, Stan).
