We're expecting a storm this afternoon, so I left for my seniors only
fishin' heaven early. I caught 70 or 80 Koi, a dozen each bass & cats of
assorted sizes, but I kept my string of at least 1 3lb.+ bass per year
since I started fishing there when I was 62 (I'm 71 now) Last year I
only caught one. A kid messed my car up from june to sept. (& thus my
scooter lift) so I did no fishing until the middle of sep. & then only
twice or 3 times. The big mama today was over 4 lbs (conservative guess)
& Was very hefty (Pre spawn in Pa?) she jumped 3 times very athletically
& broke off as I tried to haul her up the bank (8 lb test Stren). I
can't understand why she hit my little bit of pork rind (I was fishing
fro Koi at the time & the hook was dead still beneath my bobber.)
Usually I hook them on plastic worms, a couple on Johnson Silver Minnows
& once in a while I get a bass while reeling in a bit of pork rind to
recast. Good fishing & Better catching to you all. Carl

Very nice fish. Sorry you lost her, but glad you kept your string going.
