Joanne and I passed papers on Lakewood Camps this morning. We now own
40% of the outfit. Soooooo, we are offering to the aforementioned and
whomever a week *at cost* (about $35/day) next September. Pick a
date, contact me, and we'll have a clave with good fishing, food,
drink and lots of camaraderie.
And more good news: I will be going up on May 15 and won't be coming
back until Oct 15, so I'll be unable to read newsgroups. I will have
an e-mail, however, but I'll have to get back to ya on what it will
be. And even more good news (jeff and wayno), I won't be cooking. Jo
will be coming up on week-ends and we'll be in the big farmhouse.
Dave
No excuses, especially timmaaay, George, Stan, wayno.......

Uh, that "we" is Jo and me, and does not include jeff and wayno.
Perish the thought.

Congratulations Dave. I'm just tickled to see you doing
something from the heart like buying a fishing camp in
Maine. So many folks your age wouldn't ever dream of doing
anything like that.
I'll have Kristine and Kipper check their calendars and let
you know when to ready the Presidential Suite for us. ;-)

Congrats, Dave.
Can't speak for the other guys, but it sounds real good to me. When do
you need firm dates?

Congrats, Dave - I wish you great success.
I'm not sure what my calendar will be like this year. My chassis and
what it contains are due for several repairs, and I won't know for a few
more weeks when and what that will mean in terms of down-time. None the
less, the invitation is appreciated and I'll let you know what's
happening.

What's today's date?
Better yet, what was *yesterday's* date?
I've been setting this up for weeks, and happy to say I gotcha!
I'm too "old and decrepit" to be running a fly fishing camp deep in
the woods of Maine. But I'll still offer my guiding services to
anyone who wishes to go.

damn, the April Fools thing was my first gut impression,
then, gradually, I suckered in to the point I was checking what looks like a
promising fall calender......well, Lisa and I still may come up anyway.
......I guess this means you will still be online.....

And, yeah, at least for a little while longer.

Uhhhh, surrrrrrrre. We bought the dam too, so I can tell the damn dam
keeper what the water flow should be. I can set it up for super fast
(2000 cfs), fast (1000 cfs), good fishing (800 cfs), canoeing for
middle-aged lawyers (200 cfs), or just-plain-old-lawyers-of-the-
average-kind (4000 cfs).
BTW, you will NOT make passes at the former Hooter girls who will be
waiting on you in the dining room. Heather and Hermione are *nice*
girls. (Wait until you see the new Lakewood uniforms!) Nor will you
abuse in any way, or *change* in any way, the new female guide we
have, 18 yo Melissa or the cabin-girl, 20 yo Casey.
While select wine and beer will be served free of charge at the
evening meal, your decorum will be monitored by Bruce our new gay
bouncer. Of course you can party the whole night away, but the first
time you touch Heather or Hermione, Bruce will react in a baaaaad way.
I mean baaaaaad! d;o(
Bring your shotgun and we'll shoot clays off the dock in the
afternoon. There will also be a full Orvis fly shop in a new building
about to be constructed, and we will have Orvis rods and reels for you
to try out on the river. Flies will be a reasonable $3.00 apiece
(hey, we're in the great north woods of Maine).
Let me know when you and you SO want to come up and I'll send you
first class tickets and have Bruce pick you up in Portland.

Uhhhh, I spent a year in Nebraska in December, 1957, hitch-hiking home
for Christmas leave. The horro.......memories are still fresh in my
mind. I've been aboard aircraft carriers that aren't that flat. d;o)

Nebraska is not that flat. Southern Illinois, now that's flat. By the
way, that was a very good piece of 1 April fun. You put all the key
things together and made a very believable story. I was ready to email
you my dates for September. Congrats Chief.

Central Illinois is flat, southern Illinois is definitely
not. The Illinois Ozarks are gorgeous little mountains.

Try to make it to the Rapid when you're in Maine, Myron. Great
fishings.
I've been planning this joke for weeks, if not months, and I think it
went off pretty much as expected. Even ****ed off a dog! d;o)
