Enjoying an anthology of John Gierach's stories last evening and came
upon an adventure on Robinson Creek. Think Jeff Miller and Warren had a
good day there and Charlie Chok and I hiked the easy section and caught a
few one resting afternoon.

Gierach unusually was staying at a fancy lodge on Henry"s Fork and says
"The next afternoon a guide and I ended up on a remote stretch of Robinson
Creek----one of the great underrated streams in that part of the country.
we slogged down into a steep canyon and caught a few nice brown trout on
nymphs. Slow fishing ,but good. Then as evening came on a hatch of small
wheat-colored caddis flies came off and the fish began to rise. I tied on a
#16 elk hair dry which the fish refused, and was just switching to a #18
when my guide came over and said- I should mention that even if we leave
now we'll still be late for cocktails."

I can just guess Jeff Miller's answer if Warren told him that.--the memories
of that umcomeraddie clave get better and better each year.
