This eliminates a leader and two extra knots (weak points) above the
hook, to eliminate line twist when drop shotting, it does add a knot
below the hook, putting the weight on a leader, but you don't fight the
fish with the leader with this rig. You can also use a smaller leader
line, so you don't need to loose those expensive drop shot weights that
cut off when they hang up, just a smaller test leader to weight line
that will fail before your main line, so any "cheap" weight will work,
of course this will also work, when not using the swivel, so you don't
have to buy the more expensive weights.
