Went out for an hour and a half this morning, (all the time we had) we
were really fishing for cats and bream, I had one rod rigged with a 10
inch worm on a wiggle rig in the boat, to swap over for cats, I made a
couple of cast with the worm and rig,, what the heck, might as well see
if there are any bass around. I made a cast off a point with a ledge. I
had the line go slack real fast, it was hard for me to catch up with the
slack and set the hook. The Large mouth had swallowed that ten inch
worm, all the way down (rare on the wiggle rig) I had no scale, no
camera as we were not bass fishing. Now I stuck my "whole" hand inside,
past the wrist joint, in that bass's mouth to get the hook out, when I
withdrew it I made a fist, and it did not touch any of the fish's lips.
I don't have a clue how much she weighed, but she was 21 inches long.
How much "could" this fish have weighed (minimum size to have a mouth so
big) I wanted to keep bass fishing, but my Brother in law threw a fit
when I said that. He was there fishing for supper, so I rigged up for
cats, we didn't catch a single cat or bream, we just could not locate
them in the rented flat bottom boat without a finder, they were not
anywhere they usually were in that lake. I should have kept bass
fishing, He positively hates bass fishing, last time I will take him along.

He and I were arguing over the size of that bass, I thought over 5 lbs,
he said it would not go over 4. It was skinny, a post spawn female, but
it had a BIG mouth

I took my neighbor's wife to U-Haul today to get a trailor so they
could clean up their back yard. She kept saying she had lost 14 lbs,
but still could`nt get into her new pants. She positively hates U-Haul
and still has a big mouth too. I told her to eat less spam.

Rodney, I caught one just like the one you described. 21" and lean. It
came out to exactly 6 lbs on my Boga Grip. Depending on how soon you caught
her after the spawn, I would say somewhere between 5 and 6 lbs.
