What are some good jig trailers for fishing clear water? I prefer
plastic but I'm not sure what works well.
What me worry?

I like a yellow, white, chartreuse or black double tail grub.
Adjusting size to match the jig size. I also like a craw. Sometimes
a trailer hook, depending on how they are biting. A trailer hook can
be made weed less by putting the grub on so the tip of the trailer
hook can be just poked into the grub.
Jigs can be great lures!

Depends on how I am using a jig. For flipping I prefer a craw or a chunk.
For dock poling and swimming or pitch ripping I prefer a single tail grub.
Flipping to submerged grassbeds seems to work better with a grub too, but
that ma just be personal preference. Then that's more like dock poling
anyway.

I don't know where you are but in New England / I use mostly an 1/8 oz
walleye or shaky head jig / black with blue flake with a double living
rubber skirt in black. I top it off with a 4" Yamamoto single tail grub in
green pumpkin with black flake. I call it the "The PJ Jig" Named after my
brother who came up with the combo and I make them. Under certain
conditions we substitute an electric blue with blue flake paca chunk. Oh we
always spray it with craw sauce.
If the fish are on jigs this combo always works for us. It also will
produce bigger fish than a worm or a crank bait. Good luck !

I'm in Michigan, I fish mostly clear lakes and rivers, the jig combo you
mentioned sounds like a winner. How are you fishing it? like a worm, or
do you swim it.

I run a Zoom Fat Albert twin curly tail trailer almost all the time on
1/4 to 1 ounce jigs. On small 1/8 to 1/16 jigs I use a Zoom Tiny
Chunk. I dip the tips of the tails in JJs Magic chartruese dye - use
brown jigs and brown trailers.

Depends on how their hitting on a given day. Most of the time they will hit
it on the drop which really makes it redundant in swimming it back. You
have to pay close attention if your swimming it because the majority of the
time they hit on the swim they come towards you instead of hitting and
pulling away. You have to crank that reel fast and try to set at the same
time......
Ron mentioned dipping the tails in chartreuse. We used that trick in a
tournament on Lake Champlain and it worked real well. I suppose it all
depends on what colors your fish like........ Good Luck....
