Wondering if "organized chaos" does exist.

What does the term "cat herd" bring to mind? An organization of chaos.
Would you belong to an "organization" that would accept you as a member?
(Groucho paraphrase).

Not me! They pick too many fights that I don't agree with.

Last I haard, there was an active chapter in the Middleburg area.
President was Marcia Woolman, a real go-getter and a hell of a fly
angler.

Yep, was assigned to the Capital Chapter here in Richmond but the TU
directory lists' them as undergoing "restructuring". Bill

Was a "plank-owner" of the Catherine Creek Chapter in Upstate NY years
ago.

Bill,
Don't know what that means but you should use the email link at the
bottom of their site page & contact someone in the chapter. I haven't
been involved with TU for the last 10-12 years but I had a lot of
dealings with the Richmond group out of the old W'burg chapter. They
are good folks, a lot of them and are probably very active unless TU
in Va has totally collapsed.
