I have not fished the fly but it appears to me to be a bit odd to tye
in at the hook eye. I would think a loop of sorts at the parachute
titp top would be a better place.

I don't know why, but for some reason this thread reminded
me of trying fish with a dry fly in the sierra streams when
the cottonwoods were in bloom. With that fluff floating on
the water no trout would even look at my fly.

I thought he was planning to try to catch a grass carp. Either that or some
strange kind of fish that might be found in a pond near the museum that has all
the paintings by Salvador Dali.

That's the one! The striking fish with the blue furry fins! But for some
reason, every time I get close to the pond, my perspective changes and my
watch hands bend.

Shoulda found a lake with some carp. They're alot of fun when they're
eating cottonwood fluff.

Matter of fact, if you tie a lump of white thread in the upper third of the
hook and then, between that and the eye, put in a few wraps of white CDC,
you have a great cottonwood seed pattern. Used it to great effect in
Nebraska. Carp love it.

Realizing at that same moment that your rod is designed for 10" brookies,
not 45 lb freshwater tarpon.... Priceless.
