I have failed to plan well and order hooks as I should have. A little while ago
I opened my last box of 100 of the Mustad 3366 hooks in size 10. I have been
buying them by the thousand from Netcraft for several years onw, but have
learned they are out and don't expect any in for at least 60 days and my tying
show season starts in February. I had planned to tie primarily The Psychedelic
Spider and that is the hook I use for them. Does anyone know where else I could
buy some at a price of $26 to $30 per thousand? I guess I would be open to a
suitable substitute in the same price range. If responding by email, drop the
nospam.

Hi Big Dale,
Got curious. Have used this hook for bass bugs before.
Tried to call Mustad in New York. . . off for the weekend I guess . . .told
to leave a message.

Also called FeatherCraft in St Louie I believe. Not sure they can sell you
bulk at wholesale prices, but they, as I was told, have a size 10 in stock.
More importantly, I was told they have a distributor, quite close, of the
hooks. Hmmm . . .maybe a good link.
I was told you should call. . . "Bob" on Monday.
You aren't goin' to get wholesale prices from FeatherCraft . . .maybe . .
..but I was sure impressed with the help by the phonecall.
Phone number is: 1-800-659-1707.
I also remember it as a 'fun' catalog. . .like real people and everything .
.. . enjoying helping people.

Thanks Dave. I had forgotten about them and that is weird as I have been a
happy customer of theirs for years and they have never screwed up an order for
me. I think I will call Tim Martin at the Backwoods store in Fort Worth and
just have him order me 500 from Wapsi for me to get me by. They have always
been good about ordering what ever I want, and they send Wapsi an order every
couple of weeks. They don't make any money to speak of on an order of this
size, but is another reason why we should support local fly shop.
