Hello,

Is there any place I can buy quills for tying dry fly bodies?

I've recently picked up a couple of A.K. Best's books. It has sparked
my interest in tying quill bodies. However, I'm not sure that I'm into
buying hackle, stripping quills, dying them, etc. In fact, I'm sure
I'm not into it. I know it would offer me exactly the sizes and colors
that I'd want, but it just doesn't seem practical in my situation, and
I don't plan on tying that many flies w/ them. But I'd like to give a
few flies a try.

Are there any retail soureces available??

Thanks,
TyKo

Yeah well, all feathers have quills, and you can use all of them for quill
bodies. If you absolutely insist on buying the stuff, then I am sure you
will find somebody who will accommodate you. Seems like a shocking waste
though.

Am I supposed to by feathers for their quills? (Out of curiosity, did
you even read my post, the part about sizes and colors, and not doing
tons of them?) I'm sorry, but I usually am wrapping my quills around
my hooks already (in the form of hackle)--I don't just have quills
lying around on my bench. And even if I did, i couldn't choose their
color. Hence my original inquiry.
