There's been a lot of discussion recently--about
what is a lure and what is a fly. Some things are
clearly lures and some things are clearly flies.
But gray area boundry between the two is not so easy
to define. Impossible, even, perhaps.
Anyway I made the above link as a reference point.
The Ponzifish is a lure, no doubt about it. It looks
like a lure, it smells like a lure and it's way too heavy
to cast with a fly rod. I offer it as a public service
benchmark. I've got a spinning rod somewhere...haven't
put a line on it years. A decade, even maybe.
I might have to fire it up again someday.
Now that I've made the Ponzifish, I've got to try
fishing it someday.
I'll bet these things would make a stir on the
Pro-Bass circuit. I'll have to send one to one of
those guys.
