I took out some clients fishing today aboard the Jil Carrie with Capt.
Jim. What a great day as everyone had a good time. He took us chumming
first and we promptly put our limit of 18-22 inch fish in the box by
9. All fish were plump and looked very healthy. We then went looking
for trout hoping to jig up a few. We headed back up the bay where we
ran into the legend Capt Al on the My bea who was picking legal trout
while bump trolling the bottom. We jigged for about 3 drifts without a
touch.... then moved off to the east looking for birds on the channel
edge. Birds we found along with lots of dink rock plus a few that
would have been legal. not what we were looking for so Capt Jim
continued to scout out the area for promissing marks. Each time we
found loads of dinks... To put the pressure on we each ante'd up a
buck for the first trout as we had a determined bunch. We moved back
towards the middle of the bay in deeper water and finally we got our
first trout...a keeper to boot. We proceeded to pick at least one
trout for the next 4-5 drifts along with some fine white perch....Nice
way to round out the day

Capt Jim is first class as he and his mate Capt Cindy worked hard all
day. He clearly loves what he does and is a pleasure to fish with. I
have worked on a boat for 10 years in my youth and been on at least a
dozen different charter boats and would say he rates right up there at
the top.

Good luck to you all on the Jigfest. We tried to do some scouting
today in advance of tommorows trip. .....Hope you get the weather we
had today.

steve
