Has anyone charter a fishing trip in either Georgetown, Cayman Islands or
Cozmel,Mexico? If so can you make and recommendations and relate your
experience both good and bad. I will be in both locations in June of 2004
and looking to fish a little while there.

Sounds like someone is going on a cruise. If this is true you probably won't
have enough time to fish in Grand Cayman (Unless you want to go pet some
sting rays, don't even bother getting off at this port; nothing to see or do
and everything is expensive).

Cozumel offers the time and fishing opportunities. I have been there twice.
I took a fly-fishing for bonefish trip the first time and an offshore trip
the second time. The second time was with Albotros Charters
(http://www.cozumel-fishing.net/), I caught a white marlin and had a great
time with my wife. I had enough time to take a full day charter and the
price was right. I recommend this trip to any avid anglers cruising the
Western Caribbean.

Maybe because I live in the San Francisco area, the prices did not seem out
of line. Very much enjoyed the beach and snorkeling with the rays and the
fish at the "aquarium reef". Probably not enough time to book a fishing
trip and booking flats fishing through the cruise boat is exhorbitant.
Holland America gets $175 for a less than 2 hour bonefish trip at their Half
Moon Cay site. Book with a local for less than a hundred including a decent
tip in a lot of the Carib.
