View Full Version : and speaking of PETA...

One day a couple of years ago, PETA members came down to the fishing
pier with a biased questionaire about sportfishing. (Do you think
fishing is a violent blood sport? y/n) I made the mistake of assuming
that one could have a rational dialogue with these people.
"What's better," I said. "Catching fish when you want to eat them, or
buying fish from a supermarket where commercial boats net whole schools,
thus removing them from the environment?"

"We don't believe people should eat meat," the guy answered. A
non-answer, really, he was just parroting the party line without giving
it any thought whatsoever.

I can get behind supporting humane treatment for domestic animals. The
meat industry, if left to its own devices, would focus only on
economics. But the goal of convincing people to convert to a vegetarian
diet is totally unrealistic! The very idea of grilled tofu offends me.
Actually, tofu offends me regardless, fermented soy bean curd, yugh!
Have you ever seen a healthy looking vegetarian?

One of the guy's arguments I can agree with. Anglers too often leave
crap behind, like fishing line which can entangle birds. But to say that
we ALL do that invalidates the argument. I don't. I leave nothing behind
when I'm done fishing. Neither do my friends.

I've been to PETA's website. Behind all the environmental concerns they
display, there's a covert goal to transform all us omnivores into
vegetarians. Ain't gonna happen! Pork ribs are just too tasty!

I throw them into a cooler full of ice as soon as they come out of the
water. Sure, you can't wave them at people who say, "how's the fishing,"
but they stay firm and don't get mushy from soaking in the lake.
Is putting them on ice more humane than laying them on the bank?

Yeah, yeah, I know. I should eat more tofu. :)

And it should, except if a game and fish official has informed you that a
certain species is not to be returned to the water.

on the vedder river last few weeks its been loaded with pinks,, you cant
cast into the river without hookin one by snaggin it,, i try hard to make
sure i dont snag the fish,, by not yanking my line when i feel something,,
wait for the bite,, i can tell the difference between a bite and brushing
the fish body,, howeve it is nearly impossible to NOt snag a fish,, they are
stacked 5 high in the pools,, i look at it this way,, i am only minutes down
from the hatchery and the fish will make it there,, to have eggs etc
harvested,, but i definitley kill lots with body snags, etc,, the dof told
me not to worry,, put the dying thing back in the water to feed the
ecosystem.

those who use the line,,'well it was going to die so i kept it'',,even
though ita a foul illegal hook is just stupid,, throw the dying fish back in
to feed the other life in the river,,

PETa can go fornicate themselves, useless freaks need to get a life,, when
they go as far as to harm humans to protect a frikin bird i have never
seen,, orwhatever they are way beyond their stated mission of protecting
animals,, they become terrorists,, look what the idiots did to the mink
farm,, caused deaths of many many chickens plus the minks that died after
being released,, they caused way motre harm to the animal they supposedly
think they are protecting,, just shows how ignorant these groups are,,trying
to force their opinions on others, no better than a bunch of jehova's.

i assume no one from peta wears any clothing, cause it all harms anumals in
the manufacturing of products,, they need to live totally off the land with
no products that make life easier,, milk their own cows,, but if even one of
them wears runners,, or shoes, they are just fooling themselves with their
****. total waste of time,, terrorists. if one of them tried to ask me this
questionaire i would hammer the **** out of em,, see how they like it,, for
abusing the rights of humans!!!

humans first all other species are food!!!!
