FISH & WILDLIFE'S DRAFT STRATEGIC PLAN IS OPEN FOR PUBLIC COMMENT

This is your opportunity to comment on the work that will be done by the
Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department during the next five years. The
department is urging people who are interested to review its Draft Strategic
Plan and send in their observations and suggestions.

The plan focuses on four areas: resource conservation, fish and
wildlife-based recreation, human health and safety, and efficient operations
and effective management. Its purpose is to guide the department in the
conservation and sustainable use of Vermont's fish and wildlife resources
and identify measures of effectiveness.

The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department Draft Strategic Plan is open for
public review and comment through November 28. It is posted on their website
(www.vtfishandwildlife.com) as pdf file that can be downloaded and printed.
Copies also are available by calling 802-241-3700 or by writing to Vermont
Fish & Wildlife Department, 103 South Main Street, Waterbury, VT 05671-0501.
Comments should be sent by email ) or by
regular mail to the address above.

The plan will be finalized in December as the department's contract with the
public on the fish and wildlife work it will be doing from 2004 through
2008.
