Dont be confused at all!! You cast and work the rod with your right hand and
reel with your left. I've been doing the same thing since I was three years
old. Buy a left handed baitcasting reel, many models are availible.
As for griping the rod/reel, Persoanlly as a long time trout fisherman and
recent bass fisherman, I find ONE AND ONLY ONE way to grip a rod. I cast, work
the lure, fight fish, everything with out ever changeing my grip on the rod.
When i find that certain way to grip the rod and dont change it, the rod
becomes a natural extension of my arm and I feel that I can cast farther and
more accuratly, and have better feel work working the lure.

Or... you can switch hands during the cast. If you have your reel set up
properly... it shouldn't create any problem.
