Openings for Girls at Conservation Camps

Where can girls best learn about Vermont blue birds, black bears,
orienteering, canoeing, fly-fishing and gun safety while in an outdoor
environment?

All of these and more are subjects covered at the one-week Green Mountain
Conservation Camp for girls held by the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department
at Buck Lake in Woodbury and Kehoe Camp in Castleton. The department has
just announced it still has openings during certain weeks this summer.
The weeks with openings for girls are:

Aug 15 - Aug 20

The camps are open for girls 12-14 years of age. The cost is $175 for a
week's stay, including food, lodging and equipment. Sponsor information is
available.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for girls who want to learn about
Vermont's fish and wildlife resources," says Fish & Wildlife education
coordinator Mark Scott. "Biologists, Game Wardens, foresters and other
environmental professionals help make Conservation Camp a rewarding
educational experience."
