Rod wise you could look for an Abu conolon or a shakespeare Atlantis(well
rated!!), both are around £100 (although I have seen the atlantis cheaper,
at Jims discount shop, they have an online shop) that would leave you with
£50 or more for a reel, you could either look for a second hand abu 6500 or
you could get hold of a new shakespeare pres CT(very smooth reel, 5 BB) for
that money, if you wanted a more robust reel look at the penn 525 (seen them
new for £69) hope this may help.

Best bet is to scan the angling mags, you'll see plenty of rod and reel
combo offers at v good prices. Alternatively try the on-line specialists
such as Veals http://www.veals-mail-order.co.uk/ there are plenty of others.

If you're really lucky you might find an offer for rod, reel & line.

Good luck.

Loads of deals within your budget, whether new or used. For new look at the
Shakespear or Fladen range, good luck, Norman.
