Not like two or three years ago, when there was a regular daily throughput
of posts from serious anglers, including some well known names. Most have
now deserted, probably in part due to the proliferation of spam, and also
the innumerable pseudonymical posters with little or nothing to contribute.

I'll visit the new site Davy - hope you have a good 2004.

Mike

As you say Michael, not the same volume of posting, but the die hards
are still lurking (aren't you Phil?), just that nobody wants to post about
the blanked trip or the undersized whiting,......or attract to much "viagra"
spam.

Happy new year all

Steve :-)

Hiya,

This used to be a thriving discussion area but as it was pointed out ,
the spam is a major problem on usenet. My daily delivery has went up buy
about 50% after making that last post :-(

Yup very true but when you get over 80 members and over 900 postings in
less than a week it kinda makes you wonder :-)

Hiya Capstick, a problem with Usenet for me is that the propagation of
messages by my ISP is and always was pants. I did not see your post
due to that fact and was only aware of it when Davy replied, thus
allowing me to view it.

Davy and I were heavy posters to Usenet in it's time but I'm afraid
there are many now who have recently got there computers recently and
know nothing of Usenet, IRC etc...
