Hi i am going to try spinning from my local pier this spring Bournemouth,
i have a light rig and am new to this do you think i will do any good and
any tips, and what might i catch regards Frank

Not a great deal in spring unless there's a run of pollack, maybe a few gars.

Later you will get mackerel scad and a few odds. Spinning deep you might
pick up gurnard or other odds.

You might do rather better spinning along the beach at first light. There
are bass in the area but you may need to hit the right combination of light
and tide whilst still beating the holiday bathers to the best spots.

I've had more sucess off Bournemouth Peir
using Floatfished Ragworm to catch pouting
then using it as live bait for Bass on a Sliding float rig

or travel light and spin as you walk along the beach in the evenings
