Hi
Anybody know of any mixed coarse fishing in the Lowestoft area? I'm new here
and would love start catching fish again, not too bothered with carp!
Thanks Brian

Hi Brian,
For a start head down to Oulton Broad! In spring/summer before the tourists
wake up, and after they have gone to the pub/asleep there is some fantastic
(and free) fishing available. In the summer I do the occasional bream
session in my boat, but I have had just as much success fishing directly
from the parkfront at night.
At the moment the salt water has pushed most of the fish up towards Beccles,
so if you wanted to go soon I would suggest trying Beccles Quay for a mixed
bag.
The book by John Wilson 'Where to Fish in Norfolk and Suffolk', is around
9.95 and is well worth buying as it gives every water worth fishing, with
prices, phone numbers, and directions.
I come from Lowestoft, but mainly fish for Barbel around Norwich so don't
know personally too much about mixed dayticket fisheries.
Regards
Blakey

Hi Blakey
Thanks for the info......Barbel fishing around Norwich Eh??.......Sounds
interesting.....don't suppose I could pick your brains about that? I haven't
had a lot of luck with Barbel, but I would love to try again!
Thanks

If that is the same place I think it is, I would advise any responsible
angler not to go there.
I looked around there about 3 years ago and was dismayed to find a dead
Barbel on the bank. Barbel have no place in stillwater fisheries, and
ultimately it is cruel and totally against nature to stock a river fish in a
deoxiginated carp puddle.
Last I heard they have a BBQ on the weekends where someone comes around to
take your order. The anglers also fish so close they are almost knitting.
If that is what you want out of fishing then fine, but I prefer a quiet
peaceful bank where other anglers are rarely seen.
I may be wrong and have the wrong place, but I am pretty sure it is the same
one I looked at. If it isn't I apologise.
If anyone in the Lowestoft area wants to get off the carp puddles and fish
the rivers, but need some advice please just ask. (removing the obvious
spamtrap)

Yea that is the place. I agree it is very over fished & the kids running
around the bank does not help at all esp weekends.
During the week (Not school Holidays) It is a different place altogether.
