Hello and thanks for reading this.

I am buying a 2004 Lund (17 ft Adventure series 'Fisherman") in the next
few weeks. I am going to run a 4 stroke 150 HP Yamaha outboard and a 9.9
four stroke Yamaha kicker.
My wife and I do a lot of inland fishing in Northern Alberta and
Saskatchewan and never see lake depths in excess of 400 FT. We aren't
'Tournament" fishing people, but when we fish, we take it seriously and
hardly.........if ever......... come home beat. We fish predominantly for
walleye as being our number 1 persuit, we troll fast for rainbows, lake trout
, troll the shallows for Northerns, and anchor for perch .....
I sold my old boat last fall and let my old fish finder go with the
deal . It was a Lowrance Model LMS350A which was a great fish finder
that had GPS capabilities, but never used the GPS feature as I prefer using
a hand held GPS . I find the hand held GPS more versatile IE: can be used
for backpacking and hunting also.
I am looking for suggestions for a *user friendly* Lowrance fish
finder without GPS...It must have a shallow water alarm..... show fish
accurately at high speeds and trolling speeds .............. without a 200
page instruction booklet...

A Transom mounted Transducer suggestion would be great
also?....Thermocline readings? I am a scuba diver and know what a
thermocline is and certainly have felt a few....is ther anything out there
that can read a thermocline also?. I hope I'm not asking too much from this
group. I think there must be someone out there with "fishfinder smarts" and
hope they can point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions... Regards...Jim
