Good God, woman! There are any number of individuals in this group
who are willing (as well as eminently qualified) to make up a
recommended reading list! Bill? Chuck? Uncle Wally?............

Personally, I'm finding TimJ's ability to hit the witticism on the
head in 3 words or less quite inspirational.

Many would agree.

There is the solution my kids found. Get someone else to cut the
onions...

The next best solution, if you are cutting by hand, is to use a very thin
bladed and extremely sharp knife. Slicing cleanly through a thin cross
section of cells releases a lot less bad juju than mashing a wide cross
section. Working quickly also helps.......um.....but it pays to remember
that the combination of "fast" and "sharp" can have unintended and less than
pleasant consequences. One needs to do a careful cost/benefit analysis and
assess one's skills realistically. Slicing first on a mandolin and then
finishing by hand is a good compromise.

Even better, if crisp edges and uniform size are unimportant (and, for most
of us, these ends are pretty much unattainable anyway), is to simply cut
them up into manageable chunks and throw them in the food processor.

That American colleges today are promulgating the highly suspect notion that
ROFF delineates the horizons of worthwhile reading matter is a sad thing to
contemplate. :)

As has oft been noted, anyone who works for him or her self has an asshole
for a boss and a fool for an employee........um.......or was that the other
way around? :(

Ain't it the truth.

There seem to be a lot of MIAs around here lately........um.......or,
actually, not around, I guess. For a while there it looked as if your own
self might have fallen prey to the ****-weasels. Keep on bopping!

won't happen, (not becasue of any **** weasels, anyway). school work is
pretty much monopolizing my time this semester. don't have a lot of time
for much else. i do make sure i get some fishing in, though- fished the
jacob's fork section of south mountain state park a couple of week-ends ago.
great water. but i feel fortunate that, except for my spanish class, i am
still enjoying school. in fact, i had my first exam in my "marx's capital"
class today, and i kicked its ass, and i have gotten *A*s on the three major
papers i have written for other classes. i'm diggin this academic
life......
(do i have to graduate?)

Keep on bopping!

you betchya ;-)

Somewhat paradoxically, it's a necessary step on the road to a lifetime in
