a vague possiblilty ....

Patagonia factory outlets. Cheap. Not only capilene but some very
nice fleece items.

The first time Joanne and I went white water rafting we both wore
jeans. Since Joanne doesn't know how to swim, I sat behind her; if
she went in, I was going in.

We were in a rough section of the river called Horsechop. The raft
went violently to the left which caused Joanne to lean dangerously
close to falling out on the right. In panic mode, I leaned forward
and pushed her back into the raft. I, of course, fell out. When I
came to the surface I was under the raft. I worked my way around and
when my head popped up, a friend who weighs no more than 125 pounds
grabbed me and pulled all 210 pounds into the raft. Joanne was still
in the raft. However, the guide had a small cut on his forehead; I
had clobbered him with the paddle as I exited the raft. Still had the
paddle in my hand.

Of course everyone eventually got wet. Those wearing cotton were
cold. Joanne had on a light woolen sweater which kept her fairly
warm.

The following day when we again did the river, we rented the wet suits
(tops only) and wore shorts. We haven't done it in years, but we both
have either light Merino wool or capilene that will keep us warm if we
are wet and is light enough to keep us cool on a warm day.

Just remembered something about that first trip: A friend's
girlfriend was aboard. She was, shall I say, nicely shaped. Not big.
Not floppy. Not small. Sort of perfect. She chose to wear a
T-shirt without a bra underneath. Well, when she got wet, neither the
guide nor I could take our eyes off of her. The next day she too had
on a wetsuit top. Damn.....

Don't know. But, there is an REI store a couple of towns over. I go
there often, and they have sales online too.

Well, when she got wet,

I thought you didn't ice fish, and here you are talking about tip-
ups.

Your pal,
