It was an illustration. IF he did all those things, the haters of George would still bitch and moan about him. ...Kerry is part of the Massachusetts Royalty. He takes and takes and takes, and doesn't even support a charity. A few years ago it was discovered that he had an income of over $300,000 per year,.... The difference, of course, is that Kerry is a decorated military veteran. It's an honor thing.......you wouldn't understand. Wolfgang well, what the hell, it's christmas......you give 'em what they ask for, right? :) |

Like "Joe Slobbo" gets called upon to discuss oral sex under oath. Glad that you asked. During the impeachment procedures, the news networks brought out that there were indeed people behind bars, both men and women, who lied under oath about sexual conduct. What is good for Joe Slobbo is good enough for any president. End of thread for me. |

Dave is undergoing a traumatic experience. 20 years of his life he spent in fighting the evil empire, the red hoard. We were taught they were the most evil despicable regime to ever exist on the planet. We beat them and now we find we are them. If he was in the same armed forces as the rest of us he took an oath to protect the constitution , he sounds like he forgot that part. |

: You and I have had some interesting and polite talks over the years. I respect you and hope that you respect me. Sure do. I think despite the fact that we've both got our respective pushable buttons, the discourse hasn't gotten particularly bitter. I wouldn't write anything to you I wouldn't say in person. I am despised by many on this foruum because of my opions on Kerry. I don't know about the "despised" part, and even the milder "hated" would be over the top, I think. I have no regrets for anything I have ever done or said. And I say this: Bush is the man to lead us through this difficult time. We did not fight the terrorists in the 90s and we are now stopping them from hurting us. Just keep it in mind that, aside from the payments to suicide bombers' families, the Saddam regime had absolutely nothing to do with terrorism. Thus, every time we're told that this Iraqi action is a war on terrorism, many look at it as a lie. Even now, by most accounts, the number of "terrorists" in Iraq is much smaller than the number of "insurgents", but I suppose that when you're wearing the uniform, an enemy is an enemy. One could possibly argue that doing whatever we need to do to create a stable democracy in the region is good for the world, and bad for terrorist in the long run, but that's not the case that was presented to us, because you can't justify going to war and taking down a government on that basis. Personally, I think the world situation at the beginning of this nightmare pointed to encouraging a progressive takeover of government in Iran to encourage free democracy. Instead, we've got an Iraq that seems to be going the way of the worst of Iran. How do you think things would be if everyone was pulling for this war (and Iraq is but a battle in a war) instead of undermining it all the time. For me, that's almost the same question as "How do you think things would be if Rumsfeld were fired one year into this mess?" I've seen absolutely no sacrifice to support this action, aside from a monstrous debt which encompasses this war and more. I've seen not enough troops, not enough equipment, not enough planning, no definition of a victory, not enough accountability. The only thing this war has plenty of is money being funneled to contractors. The fact that Rumsfeld has launched this cluster**** and still holds his job does little to convince me that this Administration is doing what it needs to do to clean up after itself. So, when the government starts cleaning up house, maybe I'll stop questioning the motives. Ain't it wonderful that Al Jezera broadcasts on a regular basis Deans words, "We can not win this war." I hope that the extreme left does not make this war (and I'm not talking about Iraq) another Vietnam. The Admin seemed to be doing all it can to turn Iraq into a Vietnam, and used the war on terrorism as a justification. Unfortunately, this does very little to establish the US as the credible guardian of the world from terrorism. Now, Bush FINALLY seems to be saying "some of this is my fault", but not addressing the important stuff. If you have some time, read Jimmy Carter's book on the subject. End of thread for me. My words will not change anyone's belief, so why argue about it. I have to get ready to go fishing down south. Happy Hanukkah. And I hope you enjoyed Christmas. Have a good time down South, and have a wonderful New Year. -- Scott Reverse name to reply |
