sounds fine to me... are you coming east in october?

Probably not. My dance card is full with steelies, local fishing,
hunting season, etc......

There's nothing quite like those steelies for long road trips. :-)

Great report, Wayne. I'm headed up that direction at dark-thirty tomorrow
and your write up has me itching all the more to get on the road!

Oh, and many happy returns!

thanks Bill, have a great trip and remember to keep the week after Father's
day free next year.

Done, and done :-) Report on the way. It was kind of a soggy couple of
days, but I sure do like the Au Sable...

Bill

22nd-26th of June will do nicely. It's on the calendar. :)

Cool, it's early but are going to want to camp or would you want to split
the cost of a cabin if I can get one cheap enough. Even the "cheap" motels
in Grayling go for 60+ a night that time of year.

Either would work for me. Let's wait a bit and see who else is interested.
I know for sure that Bill Claspy wants to go.

As if you need to ask, my friend.

Wayne, I really liked that first camp ground south of 72 on the South Branch
(Canoe something). And the water upstream from there through the Mason
Tract is... Well, let's just say that I'd like to fish it again.

Short of camping, I have enjoyed my stays at Gates' as well, and they aren't
very expensive.

Ain't you got a cabin up there yet?

Bill

Well, it isn't a question of "whether or not".......it's the logistics we're
considering

that would be the Canoe Campground ;)

Well, let's just say that I'd like to fish it again.

I'm supposed to fish it between now and the end of the season, hoping I can
fit it in.

Ain't you got a cabin up there yet?

Nope, would like to have one but it's 6 hours from indy and the past four -
five years have been a little tougher financially. But my daughter is
finally through school and the wife is basically healed, maybe in a couple
of years. In the meantime I have access to one when I go up on my own.

Let me know when you want to go up again, if I can get free I might just
join up with ya.

Don't do it! The money you would tie up in a cabin on the water
will pay for lots of rentals, and then somebody else will have to
cut the grass, rake the leaves, trap the mice, carry out the trash,
paint the shutters, clean the eaves, maintain the septic system,
etc., etc., etc., which will leave ever so much more time for you
to fish and drink.

Kevin,
who has priorities.
