Obama and his wife and Oprah Winfrey are flying in a plane together. Michelle says: "I could throw a 100 dollar bill out of the window and make someone very happy" Barack says: "I could throw ten 100 dollar bills out the window and make 10 people very happy" Oprah says: "I could throw a hundred 100 dollar bills out the window and make 100 people very happy" The pilot whispers to his co-pilot: "I could throw these 3 ******'s off the plane and make 65 million people very happy" On Jan 22, 3:20*pm, Ken Fortenberry wrote: ~^ beancounter ~^ wrote: barrack hussein obama showed us what a retard he is by trying to let out all the islamic monkeys from cuba...... Quick, list the Presidents who have not used a Bible for the main event. What book did Sam Adams use, BTW?? Also, list how many Presidents did not recite the oath at all,but merely affirmed with the words, "I do". There, once again, were quite a few(12, I think I recall). Closing Guantanamo is step one to the US rejoining the civilized world. Many more steps will come. Tom Hi Tom, I understand your thoughts on closing Guantanamo, however I'm curious what you suggest we do with the detainees? Thanks, JT |

CNN's orange-haired septuagenarian chatterbox Larry King has
been bowled over by the new Age of Obama, enthusing that his youngest offspring (from his seventh marriage) wants to be black. I guess it's a case of black being, er, the new black. Interviewing a visibly uncomfortable Bob Woodward on his eponymous CNN show last night, Larry, 75, gushed: "My younger son Cannon, he is eight. And he now says that he would like to be black. I'm not kidding. He said there's a lot of advantages. Black is in. Is this a turning of the tide?" The distinguished Watergate scribbler responded "well, maybe" and talked about how his 12-year-old daughter Diana liked Barack Obama's inaugural speech before gingerly steering the discussion towards George W. Bush's magnanimity and how he "hasn't, you know, made any cheap shots" at his White House successor. It could have been worse, Bob. The other day, Larry blurted out that things were changing so fast that there could soon be a lesbian in the Oval Office. "Who would've thunk it," he said on KIIS radio in Los Angeles. "I can't believe it. Well, in 10 years' time we'll have, a what, a lesbian?" |

ALBANY — Problems involving taxes and a household employee surfaced during the vetting of Caroline Kennedy and derailed her candidacy for the Senate, a person close to Gov. David A. Paterson said on Thursday, in an account at odds with Ms. Kennedy’s own description of her reasons for withdrawing. |

"JT" wrote in message ... I understand your thoughts on closing Guantanamo, however I'm curious what you suggest we do with the detainees? Thanks, JT fair enough question. Let's give it a try, and both go into the process knowing that neither of us has any say in what will actually happeng: 1. First, you have to breakdown the detainees into a few basic catagories. I come up with three: 1) folks clearly detained for no good reason. Many of these were victims of bounty hunters and the like, and have no ties to terrorism whatsover. The government acknowledges that this group makes up roughly 1/3 of the 240 or so currently in Gitmo. 2) Folks with no real evidence against them, but still of a suspicious nature. Once again, using our government's information, this makes up another 1/3. 3) There are around 80 folks with clear ties to terrorist networks, with ample evidence against them. 2. The first group should be released. But to where? In many cases, they cannot go home(many from China for example were victims of ethnic persecution). In a new age of International cooperation, I think we will find nations willing to take them in. Hell, they could come here, but may not have any desire for any further contact with the US. 3. The second group should be evaluated for trial, whether by court martial laws or criminal law. At this late date, there may not be evidence to convict, so perhaps they, too, have to be released. It's the price we pay for prior ****ups by our leaders. Some of them will be tried and convicted. 4. The last group should be tried under our system of laws. If convicted, they can and should be incarcerated in this country. We took them, we keep them. None of this NIMBY crap from some Senator. Any maximum security Federal Facility will work. If we can hang onto Crips, Mafiosos and the like, we should be able to safely keep these losers from the public view. No executions, let them rot in jail and avoid martyrdom. That is my no doubt flawed thinking on the matter. Perfect? Hardly, but it does re-establish our nation as one of laws and due process. Which, in the long run contributes to our overall standing in the world, leading to better cooperation in the ongoing process of rooting out terrorists worldwide. Tom |
