That's what I thought at first. Scary, isn't it? These boys are all just
cuddly little teddy bears in person.

Well, I know Ken, jeff, and Wolfgang, the crew who are snarling now,
are.

George Cleveland, Joel Axelrod (SP?), and Bob Weinberger are nice on
and off screen, so they don't count in this.

Ken came off as cuddle puppy as his dog did in person and Wolfgang and
jeff were wonderful gentlemen when I met them.

Judging by the above small sample I've met at Claves, yes, this is a
teddy bear group. I can see the fang potential in them, even in
person, but I'm often surprized at the difference in my personal
memories and what comes up here.

Not that I'm complaining too much. I have a side of me that enjoys a
not too long thread of it and can, if provoked, do a bit of it myself.

I donīt know anything at all about hatches in the Rockies, moreīs the

pity,
but I do know that this group deteriorates more with every passing

insult
and bitterness that is published here. Any "outsider", and most

"insiders"
reading this stuff would have to be crazy to want to have any part of

it.

The only thing that really puzzles me, is, what is the point of it all?

Is
there any point at all?

Once upon a time, I laboured under the quite obviously massive
misapprehension that anglers were gentlemen. This group has certainly
taught me the error of my ways.

The insults, and the flames, and all the other similar stuff here is bad
enough, but what eventually simply wears one out, even just reading the
stuff, is that it is mostly silly and boring, and has virtually nothing

to
do with fishing, or with gentlemen either.

Most unfortunate, and extremely depressing to boot.

i agree. it's more difficult, day by day. the bitterness is becoming
overwhelming. the disputes, long ago, seemed to be an invitation to
relatively respectful intellectual contests. but since 40 and wolfgang

have
sworn to bilious confrontations until the end of time, a sort of gloom has
settled over the place, for me.

this place becomes more boring every day, for me.

You can make it stop.......well, half of it. Just say the word.

Near as I recall, only one person (not you) ever had a problem with a
western Clave lacking camaraderie. It certainly wasn't Danl.

If incorrect, please correct me. URLs are not necessary. I'll take
your word for it.
