I'm picking up the "stupid, lying, sanctimonious little prick" in Lewiston
on Wednesday, Oct. 6 in Lewiston, ID, and we're meeting up with Warren,
Chas, and (I hope) John Hightower for steelhead on the Clearwater. I
cannot imagine a more amiable crew of fishing companions. Let's hope the
fish cooperate.

If anyone else on ROFF is interested, we'll be at the Myrtle campground,
between Lewiston and Orifino, through the weekend.

Can you shoot me info on the campground at Myrtle campground. Is it a
National Forest CG or private?

Seriously thinking about it. This a tent spot? Boat or wade stuff?

You should.

This a tent spot?

From what I gather.

Boat or wade stuff?

I guess I am supposed to bring the boat, but it is mostly wading from
what I understand. The boats are used more for access from what I
gather. I have seen the boat launches and they look more like they are
meant for rafts (white water launches) that are very steep. From what I
have seen driving along the river, people slide their boats down to the
river and then put in. With enough people, man-handling and ropes the
boats and trailers might not be a problem, but you won't be using a
vehicle to launch the boats. I am bringing the boat, but I bet it is
mostly going to be wade fishing. RW and JohnnyH(ightower) should know
better more than I do. I have only driven along the river as I drove
out to George and Glady's place and have never fished it. Below Orifino
it is big water and better fished from a boat IMO and the launches are
better. You see more boats and fewer rafts in that section so there
must be better launch sites.

On second thought, I guess you have.

Done.

I hope, for your sake, but most certainly not for mine, that the door
didn't hit you in the butt on the way out.
