of the world is a battery-charging experience. I talked to SWMBO and we are
looking into finding a vacation cabin in the northwoods here, so maybe the
next clave (or at most, the one after that) will be held at my place! We can
only hope! :-)

Those tax breaks must be somethin' else!

Jon.

Hell, YES! Between the massive amounts I save on taxes, coupled with
the obscenely top-heavy salary I recieve, not to mention my
offensively lucrative perks and retirement package, expense accounts
and covered expenses, coupled with being relieved of the burden of
supporting some local school district, police, fire, road
administration and government salaries, or having to suffer the insult
of having deductions seized from my paycheck for such idiocies as a
retirement or 401K plan, I have so much disposable income that I have
to run out and buy a new home or airplane pretty much every summer! In
fact, unlike my poor compatriot teachers in the US (where we all know
they deserve absolutely nothing nice or enjoyable in their lives since
they were so stupid to have chosen such an impoverished profession), I
have it so damn good that I think after I spend 10 year's savings on a
rustic cabin in Sweden, I might run out and buy myself some
medium-sized Caribbean island.

Actually, that says a lot, and its true. The nice news is that rural cabins
in northern Sweden are not too expensive. I think I can find one with river
access and not in need of too much repair for less than most stateside folks
pay for their car. (BTW, I don't have a car...) Since I seem to find myself
in that neck of the woods fairly often (3 of the past 4 summers), it might
make sense to have a place like that waiting each year. Especially for the
relaxation factor.
The caribbean island, OTOH, might have to wait. :-(
