Where oh where to retire?

Ideal being large cheap property, "country" location, sufficient home, garage for truck and boat, nearby deer woods/bird fields/bass fishing. So my question is this: If you were to retire today and could go wherever you desired in the continental U.S.A., with the above in mind, then where would you go? You may respond directly if you wish. Thank you. Summer home on Champlain. Winter home on Okeechobee. Yep, I'd be happy. Middle Georgia - south of where you are now so land is cheaper and more deer.
We have a 12 deer per year limit - pretty high. Still close enough to West Point, Eufaula, Oconee, Jackson, Sinclair, Blackshear and Tobosofkee as well as the Flint River. Ronnie http://fishing.about.com |

Thank you. Alabama Still can find cheap land, and taxes on it are low no closed fishing season, we have some major water to fish Only a couple days out of the year too cold to fish Most liberal deer hunting limits (I think you can legally kill about a 140 deer each season now, if anyone ever wanted to hunt every day and take his limit,) the most I have killed in a year was 30. No hunting or fishing license needed after 65 years old WE have a state constitutional "right" to hunt and fish, so there is no PETA freaks running though the woods or in boats scaring the game or fish Few gun laws, we have easy obtainable concealed pistol permits, of course no permit is needed if carried in the open. Very low crime rates in rural communities Of course you will be called a damn yankee from now on Just to let you know the difference between a yankee, and damn yankee Damn yankees never leave, and we are getting a lot of retired damn yankees now -- Rodney Long, Inventor of the Long Shot "WIGGLE" rig, SpecTastic Thread Boomerang Fishing Pro. ,Stand Out Hooks ,Stand Out Lures, Mojo's Rock Hopper & Rig Saver weights, Decoy Activator and the EZKnot http://www.ezknot.com |

Warren sez"
Motor Home. 'nuff said. Only if health is NOT an issue. Imagine 100 plus fishing days driving to/from Alaska. Imagine fishing from B.C. to the Maritime Provinces and back. Imagine bass fishing from California to Florida and back. Good luck! John |
