After watching the Bass Masters Classic again today...

I had read when it initially happened, that Iaconelli was so caught up
in the moment and his own enthusiasm that he never attempted to shake
hands with Klein. I read that somewhere online. Can't quote it, so its
just here say. So, who knows ???

Did Klien walk off stage at Classic weigh in ? I didn't get to see all. I
suppose I'd have to know why he did it. Was it because Iconelli was so
demostrative or because he was giving him the stage ? just wondering.

It's hard to tell why he did - maybe for both reasons...

I was routing for Klein incidently...

I think Mike I's arrogance created a lot of animosity with fellow bass
fisherman, it's kinda hard to like him and it's his own doing...He may
be a ok guy but he needs tone it down..

I remember no one liked Mohamed Ali for his mouth or actions at the time either. Times change.
Life is passing to a new more expressive generation. Tattoo's, body piercing and hair coloring for example.

Other "Bad" examples:

Parents reaction to Rock and Roll Music and dancing in the fifties and early 60's
Elvis
The Beatles

I'm in my 50's and it does not bother me in the least. This is not Golf you know. It's just plain outcatching the best of the best. That was his dream, and he achieved it. He is young, let him blow off a little steam. I would. Maybe not in the same way, but I would make a ruckus.

Maybe it has to do with Ego. I wouldn't know. I left mine in the service in the 60's with a lot of other guys.

My opinion of Mike Iaconelli remains the same. He made a complete and
total ass of himself. You never saw Yelas, Van Damm, or Hite act like
that when they won their crowns. To me the way Iaconelli acted rates
right up there with Terrell Owens(49ers-the Sharpie incident) & Joe
Horn(Saints-the cell phone)....classless.
I believe that you should act as if you've been there before. I wonder
if Iaconelli had a Sharpie on board would if he'd taken it out and
signed the fish?

It's no different then 30 guys on the Marlins jumping all over themselves after winning the world series, guys doing dancing in the end zones, Kenseth shredding the infield grass after winning a Nascar race, etc. Of course, when you reach the pinnacle of your profession there's always a bunch of jealous detractors...

I've been involved in some kind of sports events all my life. I have
been on several championship teams & won a few club tournaments. We were
ALWAYS taught to show class, not to rub it in, don't make a spectical of
yourself & don't show up the other team. I guess different strokes for
different folks. As for Mohammed Ali.... I think more people were ****ed
at him going from Cassius Clay to Mohammed Ali myself. Wasn't their a
draft dodging thing involved?

I try and be as non judgemental as possible..but a "class act" gets my
attention every time! In this case, it was not a class act...but like I
said, hard to judge someone's actions if you don't really know the whole
story. Winning this event might make any of us a bit "giddy"! g
