MESSAGE NO LONGER AVAILABLE for me to read too often

Often when I click on the most recent unread message, I get a red flag, a
line through the title, and a message saying that that post is no longer
available on the server. Is anyone else having this problem? Is this a
problem with my computer, or are a lot of posts being deleted by someone?

I use Charter also, and am having the same problem. In fact, today it
says that there are "no items in this view . . ." but when I look at
Google there's a long list of items posted since I last viewed.

Furthermore, even though I've followed Charter's instructions to the
letter after their change of news servers two weeks ago, I still can't
post either replies or new messages.

Probably time to look for a new ISP. Will probably sign up with SBC.

Bob

The DSL is good, but SBC's news servers suck - big-time. As always, YMMV.

I've had this same problem with BellSouth for over 2 or 4 months now, so I have been
usin' "individual.net."

Will be droppin' BS very shortly.

Interesting. I haven't had any problems with Bellsouth. Are you using
newsgroups.bellsouth.net as the server?

Yep, but it won't recognize my password for any length of time, even after it has been
reset numerous times. I've been through it with them and have decided to shop
elsewhere.

I can receive posts, but I can't reply to posts via BS. Go figure?

Ever tried anything other than OE? I've never used OE, but I don't have any
problems using Agent or Thunderbird.

They switched news servers? This could eff-up your article list, as different
servers are rarely cohorent wrt article numbers.

You might try deleting one of the groups with which you are having problems
and then add it again and then download all headers for the group. This should
reset your article list, maybe fix your message access problems...
