Where does a guy pick up a service or softwae like that? That sounds pretty

You have to go to his Web site and join his forum. And trust his
moderation of it.

I've been on some forums that were moved off newsgroups to stop the
flame wars and the SPAM. Did stop the latter. However, they were
then so dull that I didn't want to use them. Only a limited circle of
users (hard to get new ones unless you spam the newsgroups). I hate
Web forum software and I only have a couple of newsgroups where I put
the even the least trust in the moderators not to moderate by their
own biases. Those are newsgroups, not Web forums, btw. And they have
to be moderated or they'd be useless. Hunting and guns groups. I
don't use them any more, but the moderators seemed very trustworthy.

Web forum software tends to be slow and klunky. I'm only on two Web
forums and that's because I like the forum's subjects and the people
and occasionally join them physically on outings.

BTW moderation is done by members of these very same newsgroups that
ask to become moderators. The only moderation that is done is to
remove ads trying to tell you how to make a million dollars in a day,
or how much viagra you should be taking. No posts that are on subject
or not a blatant OT ad are removed, and I don't even do the removing.
If you love reading how to make $$$ ads then by all means you should
stick with reading the newsgroups straight out. And our forums have
never been slow and clunky. This newsgroups thing is only a minor
addon to what we have, We have our own forums made especially for our
site.

I have killfiles. They work. I trust my moderation to my own tastes.

And I still don't like Web forums.
