"rw" wrote in message ink.net... Don't take the bet, Larry, because Wolfgang never pays off, even when he's conclusively proven wrong. No ****, he's a total welsher. It's over a year since he said he was raising money to buy me a puppy. OK, the guy hates my guts, but I figure he can't be all bad if he's going to buy me a puppy. So I put my order in for a Golden, suggested Willi's, and then . . . zip. Pretends he never said it. Wolfgangs like a slot in an Elko gas station; He never pays off. :-) On another note. . . . I even gave him my mailing address. Exactly my point. All this "shiny new nickel" this, and "shiny new nickel" that. Blah, blah, blah. Its always the same bet. Then he loses and where is the "shiny new nickel?" NOWHERE, thats where. Im starting to think "Wolfgang" and Vern might be the same guy. Same rationales. Walks like a duck . . . . Has anyone actually seen the two of them together? Funny thing . . . "Vern" disappears and who is left? "Wolf(Vern)gang." And the "shiny new nickel" business. Then there is this bit about dogs. And as I recall "Vern" had his own interesting take on dogs too. Some people have said they have seen him, but has anyone actually checked his ID? You know that in German, "W" is pronounced like an English "V." See where this leads? Exactly. For those who like watching you two rub each other's pee-pees, that's just the sort of thing they like. no signs of her out there today .... but there was a pair in a cottonwood
about 50 feet from my back door for a while ... probably the same Woodies and they were just napping between real estate visits, trying to find a home to raise a family in a good neighborhood, yesterday ..... think Wolfgang woulda gotten my million shiny nickels ... but I may check again in a week or so On the bird subject .... there were 6 baby mallards, and an "acting wounded mamma" on the pond today, freshly hatched ...... and even more exciting I just drove in from a trip to town to find a cock valley quail strutting around near my water pump/tank in the front 'yard' I was pretty sure they had all abandoned the area, as I haven't seen one in a long time, but I let some blackberries and honeysuckle and other things any decent farmer would fight to the death grow along a fence row and it seems to have had it's intended effect ...... just just gotta love nature |

If memory serves (and she does ocassionally cooperate), Wolfgang offerred to bet a million shiny new nickels "ON", not "AGAINST" the possibilty that woodies might sometimes nest on the ground. I'd bet a shiny new nickel that Wolfgang would recommend you stay away from Vegas. Typhus? Malaria? Yersinia pestis? Wolfgang who has a deep and abiding love for some parts (mostly the naughty bits, if truth be told) of nature. |
