Well, you're half right. I was there, but it's not a great
place to fish, it's not even a good place to fish.

Fawn Weedbed is a 2 hour hike from the nearest trailhead.
Of all the fishing destinations in Yellowstone Park that
require a 2 hour hike it is so far down the list of good
fishing destinations that no one in their right mind would
ever recommend it. And if they do recommend it, on roff,
*and* they're a top-poster, well ...

But the joke's on them, Choc & Jeffie hiked all the way
up there and the three pix Choc posted to abpf didn't
contain a single solitary fish. I assume if one of them
had actually caught a fish they'd have posted its picture.

You may have thought you were there, but you weren't. Fawn Lake is not a weed
bed, but some old beaver ponds near there are. You were simply lost and won't
admit it.

You know, I'm not the world's best at map & compass
but I *can* find a five acre weedbed that's marked on
the topo. That I did so while just passing by doesn't
mean I wasn't there.

If you were passing by on the trail and saw it it does mean you weren't there
(the lake isn't visible from the trail until you are well past it up into Fawn
Pass). If you saw a weed bed it also means you weren't there (there are some old
abandoned weeded up beaver ponds that *are* visible from the trail, though).

I was coming from Fawn Pass and headed toward beer after a
week in the backcountry. I was in a hurry, but I wasn't blind.

And if you saw a 5 acre weed bed from that far up the trail you weren't looking
at Fawn Lake either, much less close enough to it to try a cast.

Wasting your time, Charley. You could have caught a fish like this:

and Ken would still come up with something. It's enough to frazzle your
ass...........

....now we know he's never seen nor fished fawn lake. ...and, he gave me
grief for merely mentioning the place incidentally?
