There were no problems associated with the timing.......um......well, except that we got adopted by a stray dog......who took up more than her fair share of porch space. :( Wolfgang who, truth be told, is much more comfortable with the idea of people chasing bears all over creation than vice versa. |

I'd love to attend--but need to know dates sooner rather than later so I can convince the various powers that be to let me go. --Steve (Mormon-in-Transition) Wayne Harrison wrote: "Bevin" wrote I understand some of you friendly folk get together in western NC in the fall. Does anyone have an idea of when this event might happen? Any other details available yet? Is it too early yet? i believe jeffie miller, the scourge of the madison valley, has some general concepts for just such an event. since the only mormon i have ever seen in western north carolina is zimbo, i might make the scene myownself. oh, jeffie!!!!! yfitons wayno zimbo - why don't you give us the dates that work best for you and which will be most acceptable to the "power that must be obeyed". it would be great to see you again and catch up on your doins. last i heard, you were training for nascar, and building racecars. g jeff |

Bevin: The last fly rod that I saw that was broken by "switchin a bar"
only had tha top six or eight inches broken off the old wonderod and he was still using the rod a couple of decades later. This guy also showed us some genuwine Yallerhammers that his grandad had tied. Way Cool! The FFF Southern Council Conclave is in Mountain Home, Arkansas on October 6-8 and I was kind of thinking about heading over to North Carolina the next week, or I could just head to Colorado. Charlie, If any of your group decides to try Eseke's Brew Pub in Taos, I would suggest staying away from the Green Chili Beer. That is a great time of year to be in Northern New Mexico. I remember watching mny Dad catch trout on bubble gum at Junebug campground between Red River and Questa back in the 1950's. Big Dale |
Forty's dates are as good as any. I have to convince my various bosses
that both flying to Utah to run the St. George marathon on October 1st *AND* spending several days fishing with ruffians are both mortal necessities. As far as being called a top-posting ****tard.... I'm using Google Groups on a f^cking Macintosh, so it serves me right. --Steve |
of course, that still leaves open the question of when *you* will be
there... jeff Zimbo wrote: Forty's dates are as good as any. Steve, When you get to St. George (don't know why anyone would want to go there :-)), take your bamboo with you. There is no fishing in the Virgin River (well, except for a few par-boiled white fish), but Kolob Resevoir is awesome. There is also Quail Creek Resevoir, but I recommend Kolob. 22 miles up the road from Virgin, UT, you can easily be the only one on the lake on any given weekday. 24 inch cuts suckin' at the bugs right along the shore. Try the north side of the lake where the creek comes in. A float tub is ideal if you can bring it with. Good way to relax after a big run. Oh, by the way, bring your big crawdad patterns. http://espn.go.com/outdoors/fishing/...reservoir.html -- Frank Reid Reverse email to reply |

Good luck with that marathon. I wouldn't be anywhere *near* ready to slither around, over and amongst Graham County boulders just a week after having run a marathon. My knees would still be ice-bound 12 hours a day and my diet would consist of Laphroaig and ibuprofen, (not that that's all bad ;-). I envy you youngsters. -- Ken Fortenberry |
