Buying a Boat
Thanks guys, so I've settled on the boat, now I need an electric
trolling motor. I've been looking at Minn Kota's Maxxum, Vector, and Endrua brands. Any suggestions(id like it to have maximizer tecnology built in)? I like the Maxxum, its the most expensive of the 3 but its the best I can get for my money($330), heres a link http://www.minnkotamotors.com/produc...unt/maxxum.asp Next is the Vector its got pretty much the same features as the Maxxum and costs a bit less ($270), heres a link http://www.minnkotamotors.com/produc...unt/vector.asp And last is the Endura, its got less features and cost less, and lacks a maximizer. It sells for $240, heres a link http://www.minnkotamotors.com/produc...unt/endura.asp And if u have any suggestions other than these three feel free to post them |

I have a 35# Minnkota 765MX (elec foot pedal) on a 14' V along with a 25 horse Evinrude. I would check out the local Minnkota repair shop and see what he has in rebuilt motors or motors that people have traded in on a new or larger model. The guy down in Milwaukee, where I got mine, is honest and will not sell a rebuilt he is not satisfied with. I forget where you are from so this might not help you. :{ I've learned that I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy it! Buying a Boat
Don't know if its still made, but search for Sun Dolphin Pro 120. I
bought mine in 2000 for $1200 brand new. 11 feet by 5 feet wide and very stable with compartments, casting decks, seats, livewell, wiring and lights, good weight capacity for a 11 foot. It is even rated for up to 15 horse, if you choose to use an outboard at some point. Downside, is it is probably just big enough for two if both are fishing, but |

A quick search showed atleast one source listing down to about 1300 -- Bob La Londe http://www.YumaBassMan.com LocalNet dialup IMO is a criminal organization. Have not used them in years but they continue to bill me. |
