Bush doesn't know Jack

G I could by the notion, Tim, that a president sees and briefly interacts with thousands of people a year, but Abramoff was not exactly the average Joe on the street. He was hand and glove with the Republican congressional leadership and unless the president really is as clueless as he (and most of his detractors) claim, I have a hard time believing that Abramoff was some random stranger that he had no clue about. |

And where are you consistently at this very sad time in our country's history? A Chuckling, sneering buffoon, making up stories and ****ing into the wind, even as page after page of this disgusting marathon unfolds. Shame on you. Dave |

I won't speak for you, but there have been hundreds of people over the years that I've exchanged little bits of conversation with, and many on more than one occasion; for example, I regularly get gas at a particular station and chit-chat with the manager if he's there. Oh puhleese. This is nothing but a straw man. The President is *not* the manager of a gas station, and access to the White House and his company is anything but casual chit chat. Nobody gets in that building or near him without proper authorization. You must be joking with that analogy. You have no idea about which you speak. Hell, I've got a copy of "My Life" personally inscribed to me by Bill Clinton (no, it isn't autopenned or any such - Bill hisownself wrote the inscription). And I'd not be surprised if someone could dig up pictures of he and I in the same general vicinity, albeit none of us shaking hands or such. Based on the inscription (and the pictures, if any), your average Joe could easily be convinced Bill and I were old chums. We aren't. And "proper authorization" doesn't mean anything like what you apparently think it means. Nuts of all flavors regularly get right up close to a President - look at DeLay and about 85-90% of Clinton's staff - hell, the SS let Hillary in his bedroom, for gawd sakes...well, to be fair, they were fairly certain nothing would happen...they just ain't got anything that even looks like certain types of weapons on or about their person when they do so. HTH, R ....and I'm under no illusion that Clinton had the foggiest clue as to who he was inscribing it when he did so...hell, if the list would have had the name "Chelsea Clinton" on it, she would have been Fed-Ex'ed (or UPS'ed - I don't remember other than it wasn't USPS - you just gotta LOVE that little touch) a copy that said something like, "Chelsea, you're one hell of gal - thanks for all of your support. Hillary and I really appreciate what you did for Chelsea and we look forward to seeing you soon. With warmest regards, Bill" and a cute little embossing of the POTUS seal (which I'm not even sure is proper, but hey, what's a little scofflawery among pals, right?)...by-the-by - you want an inscribed copy of "My Life" at a below-market price? |
