None of my business, though. :) Low water, hmm, streamer time in the deep holes. Should be fun. Yup. Got a lot to do between Tuesday and Friday a.m. Get busy.....don't be late to the airport. So I've always been told. The Fishers, being only half Finn, never adopted the practice "Finns often use short bundles of birch branches, called "vihtas", to tap against their bodies to stimulate the skin. Well, sometimes, I suppose. In fact, this sauna stove has a raised edge, about four inches high all the way around the top. This forms a retaining wall to hold a few dozen softball sized rocks. When everything gets nice and hot, the first person in may have a dry atmosphere.....for a while.....depends on how long the water has been boiling in the jacket. By the time he or she gets finished enough water has been splashed about to make it very humid. It is also a common practice to throw a dipperful of water on the rocks from time to time to generate steam. This should be done cautiously. There is a chance of being splashed with boiling water if it is thrown too violently. If the rocks are really hot, this also generates a pretty substantial burst of steam. You don't want to hold the dipper over the rocks and pour it slowly or you will parboil your hand. And, of course, the atmosphere instantly becomes super-saturated and HOT! Be prepared to get off the bench and down near the floor or out the door. :) Wolfgang who likes it at about 150 fahrenheit.......most people don't. |

"Frank Reid" wrote in message oups.com... jeff (starting to think about packing) Hell, you are WAY behind. I've been thinking about it for weeks. Yeh, gonna be different for me. I'm used to hauling everything in my truck, so usually wouldn't worry about what I was going to have to leave behind. And now that the fuel prices have dropped, it would have been cheaper to drive it than fly. Oh well. I'll pack this afternoon. Will give me time to run to the store if I find I'm short on something. Just tying flies now, watching a recording of Sharpe's Challenge from the BBC. Oh yeah, just got my license. http://www.mdnr-elicense.com/welcome.asp I always print two copies. One I keep on me one goes in my luggage in case I take a swim with the first. Frank Reid You fly guys pack as if you were staying in a furnished condo or at each others house. Don't worry about any of that cooking or lanterns or tents or camping stuff like that. Your rod, toothbrush and clean underwear in case you have to go to the hospital should be more than sufficient. Any other's driving in,pack only the necessities and minimalist camping (tent and bag, plate and fork) I can accommodate four or five and Wolfgang and I have it pretty well covered. john.... I even have traveling music... |
