Happy birthday, Ken. The first 50 are the hardest.

Thanks George, and I sure as hell hope so.

You need to make some real friends.

I guess I'm not going to be one of your friends, real or virtual.

Good guess.

But if you're really hard up for friends you could try playing
kissy face with Little Wolfie. That'd be a show worth watching.

Often taunted by trout. Almost entirely harmless. Really.

I got up around 5 this morning after a wonderful night's sleep on the
deck in the back yard. Went inside and built a pot of coffee. While
it was brewing, I went back out and alternated between and reading and
watching a bunch of juncos cleaning up under the bird feeder. A bit
later, I raked up as many leaves as I could fit in the compost bin and
then mowed the rest into the lawn. Then I took Cullen for a walk on
the bike trail along the Little Menomonee while Becky did some
shopping. She was still gone when we got back so I split some wood for
the firepit in the back yard.....Saturday evening fires have become a
regular feature here now. Meanwhile Becky got home with a new recipe
for burritos that she got from Zorba Paster:

http://www.wpr.org/zorba/

and the ingredients to make them for supper. We used chicken instead
of the turkey. They were awesome. Becky and her brother are out in
the bak yard with Cullen right now sipping wine and talking. I'm
headed back out in a minute or two.

I had no intention of getting involved in this particular dumbfest, but
I've always had a hard time turning down invitations.

As I said the other night, I have a lot to be thankful for. Among
other things (and who would know better than the two of
you......right?) I am thankful that I am not so starved for attention
and approval as either of you.

Y'all have fun now, hear?

Wolfgang

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Kennie!

From downtown Beijing, a few blocks from the walls of the Forbidden

City, which is a lot older than you.
