Whatever one does one must bear the consequences.

Let's run it up the flagpole and see who salutes.

To thine own self be true.

A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a
fool.

Of course this is probably easier if you are an unprincipled
asshole. So ROFF lost a couple more contributors,

Lemme guess - you're leaving AGAIN, and this time, you're taking johnno,
stevo, socko, the anonymous brothers, and Tom Nagasaki or whatever his
handle is with you?

and any newbies reading this will give this place a very wide berth,

Or at least look before they leap...

and you three
fine upstanding examples of American manhood really made a fine show
of yourselves.

American?

Congratulations!

Thank you! It was my pleasure!

Hell sonny, how come you keep guessing wrong? Are you just plain
stupid?

. . . and that may be the problem, Mike. It is the abbreviation for
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. You state that roff is full of stupid
idiot dumbos, but you can't seem to stay away. Posting link after
link after link, most of which point to other forums, without any
content in the posts is a rather rude way of purposely cluttering up
roff for some kind of personal satisfaction, although I cannot
understand the ploy. If I disliked roff as much as you've stated,
I'd remove the subscription and never look back.

I have enjoyed so many of your posts over the years. One not too
long ago was about the joy of breaking off a tree branch and
fashioning a rod so you could fish while having a nice outing with a
lady friend and her child. I still smile now thinking about it. What
happened to cause this much disgust and hatred?

Donīt you read what Fortenberry and others post here?

Yes, but what they post speaks of them, not you. You have no control of
that.

I did not state that ROFF was full of idiot dumbos.

The links I posted are to my own articles on fly-fishing related
subjects, and most are only useful with the accompanying pictures.

If you had just posted one or two, I'd say you were probably trying to
convey useful information. Posting ten or twelve in a row is sending a
message of a different sort.

I donīt hate anybody, although I certainly am disgusted.

Ahh **** it, whatīs the point...........................

You seem to think no one understands what you're saying. Maybe some of
us understand, but disagree with the content, context, or premise. So
what? IMHO, that "**** it" attitude would have been best applied several
days ago.

You're prone to both, not to mention preening like a foppish
fruitcake and I wouldn't even want to know why.

... So ROFF lost a couple more contributors, ...

The only thing roff lost was the anonymous posts you created
to drum up support for yourself, you sick weirdo.

Now I wonder why your ally is not jumping on the racial slurs you are
using, first against Polish women and now against Japanese names?
Mr.Nakashima merely asked a few questions.

That may well be the case, but only a couple of you are attacking me
personally as a result of your disagreement with anything.

What surprises me is the fact that you and others condone the
behaviour of a few extremely offensive people, and then tell me that
what they do is somehow my fault. This simply does not make any
sense.

However this may be, I suppose you get the newsgroup you want. If you
wish it to be dominated by offensive scumbags, then it will be.

frankly mike, i'm not sure "condone" is apt. there is simply nothing
that can be done other than tolerate or ignore such folks in an
unmoderated newsgroup. the freedom to spout as one chooses in these
places is both the charm and the curse. that a few choose to disagree
*and* to be disagreeable in the process ought not brand an entire group.
your debate is with them alone. this is a diverse (and at times,
perverse) crowd. i'd trust most recognize intelligence, wit, and
integrity...as well as the lack or abuse of each. in my opinion, your
best arguments with the disagreeable folks is in the strength of your
facts and logic and experience...not in ad hominem exchanges with tar
babies.

i have benefited greatly from your many informative posts here and
elsewhere, and i have always enjoyed/admired your craft of humorous and
philosophical rhymes.

Indeed, I fear you are right.Probably quite foolish of me to imagine
that even group censure, even were it to occur, would have any
effect.

The links I posted were for information, some may find it useful. It
also scrolled a lot of rubbish off my screen! :)
