There is qiuite a lot to blame Cheney and Bush for - why not this?

Dave - Why are you always accusing prople who see things quite differently
than you of being drunk or high.
What you really need Dave - is a few joints & a bottle of Langevulin (sic)

It's happended everywhere that they open a store.

What kind of tax break does the guy who has run the fly shop across the
street for 30 years get? He'll have to compete with his son for a
minimum-wage job at Walmart after Cabelas drives him out of business.

BTW, it's an ironic fact that George W. Bush made his money due to a tax
increase. He and his backers (Bush was only the political front man)
arranged for a special election to raise the sales tax to finance a new
stadium for the Texas Rangers. The county used eminent domain to buy
private land at below-market prices, built the stadium, and then sold it
to Bush and his buddies for much less than it was worth.

Cabelas are evil *******s. They struck a deal with the corrupt
(Republican) politicians in Idaho to avoid paying the sales taxes they
should have been required to pay, and which their competitors pay.

I will never spend another dime in Cabelas.

I Googled around and found nothing on this. Do you have a link to a story?
This is interesting to me, as a Cabela's opened down the road from me just
bit ago.

"Cabela's founders are big fans of the president, too. Dick and Mary Cabela,
the husband and wife who launched the business in 1961 by selling handmade
fishing flies through the local classifieds, have maxed out as donors to
President Bush's 2004 campaign and given thousands of dollars more to other
Republican candidates and organizations. Arterburn insists the donations
have nothing to do with the decision to host President Bush and Vice
President Cheney." http://www.slate.com/id/2106735/

.....such a shame. Shopping at Cabela's was so convenient.
And now I'll spend another nickel there.

Because BJ *IS* drunk. He has a problem. I am not the only one who
has noticed it over the years. Some of his posts are inchoherent
jibberish with mostly misspelled words, terrible grammar, and the
worst hack job of typing I have ever seen.

I'm a McCallan single malt guy, 17 yo, please. And, yes, I have it on
every trip I make. If you are hosting a clave, I may even show up
with a bottle for you. (I gave wayno a bottle of Lagavulin as a gift
for hosting roff's first clave. Ask him what he thinks of it.) Pot
is for folks that need to escape. I don't need to escape.

Only assholes drink Lagavulin or Laphroaig. Right, Forty? d;o)

Hmmm...maybe you could start doing business with some husband and wife
selling handmade flies through your local classifieds...well, at least
for a while, anyhoo...

How come it is that folks want to do business with the small local
businesses until they become really successful? I mean, if 14 people
all suddenly opened nice little shops in your town, would you begrudge
the 1 or 2 that were able to make a go of it by being better (or
smarter, faster, whatever) than the competition? I tend to do business
with who provides the most benefit to me as the customer and if my
choices are, for example, spending $5USD for product X at Pop's Corner
Grocery or $2.97 at Walmart, I'm saving _MY_ money and buying from
Walmart. Why should anyone feel guilty about that?

My sudden distaste for Cabelas has little to do with their success.
It was because of their success (they offered everything for sale
all in one place) I used to shop there.

I don't like what they've been doing with Ranches in Montana.
I don't like what I've heard about bullying local governments into
providing tax breaks not available to other smaller retailers.
I really don't like what I've heard about aggressive support
for Bush and Cheney. Last year, while driving to Chicago,
I went hundreds of miles out of my way in order to stop at
the Cabalas headquarters. It was fun--a little like a good-ol-boy
disneyland.

What I've learned since then now ends that relationship.

Why should anyone feel guilty for deliberately misstating an issue that he
doesn't comprehend in the first place, huh? :)
