Ive been told that Cabela's is very stingy when it comes to supporting conservation efforts with cash. That they are a "hooray for me" outfit with zip community involvements, in other words leeches as a corporation. So what's new. I know that when they come into an area they extract all kinds of tax concessions from suckup politicians eager to claim they brought this or that many jobs into an area. In other words they don't help pay for local schools, police, fire etc., and economically they are a net taker from regional economies except sometimes for the immediate municipality getting their sales tax. By the way Its not just local fly shops they put out of business, but the whole range of outdoor rec businesses. They also pay ****. The ONLY big box retail outfit that pays its people decently and gives good benifits is COSTCO. Dave Dave |
