Today is Jo's birthday. *The family is going to an Italian restaurant.
She declared, this a.m., that if Obama wins, she is retiring. *Yahooo.
I'd like to see McCain win, of course, but if Obama does, I will have
my hands full teaching the young lady how to fly fis, loving every
minute of it.


Well, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JO!!! I've got to hollar 'cause its a long way to
taxachusetts and we don't have that new fangled telefono thing yet.
Hmm, Jo retired. Ain't gonna happen. She loves work too much. So,
you going to buy Lakewood if she does?

You ever thought of doing what you just did as a screenplay, It could
be part of an updated version of "Birth of a Nation," Think of the
post as a basic syllogy, around which is sketched a nouveau-ethical
rascist tale, or even just an aggrieved White Southern sportsman
screed against perceived inconsistency of treatment to a God he
assumes has time for him. With the right cast it could become a date
nite favorite for fascist youth and their snake handler brethren.

It is a bit of a rogues gallery.

very soon. The private cabin next to Lakewood and the dam keeper's
house is also for sale. Jerry, the owner, has chopped the price in
half; you can buy it now for a quarter mill. They have that kinda

No, not that one. The one next to the last Lakewood cabin and the dam
keeper's red barn. I offered him $250k for it twelve years ago. He
laughed at me (good naturedly). It is on leased land and folks are
just a little reluctant to pay that much if they don't own the land.
