Oh hell, there's plenty of time and the swift boat crew hasn't been
called in yet (they should be just about ready, must have spent all of
their money by now). All that's needed is a good fairy tale or two.

Actually, the wing-nut 527s have been running pretty much every piece of
discredited garbage they can come up with, particularly in Florida, for the
last couple of weeks. Fat lot of good it's done them - over the couple of
weeks, Florida has gone from decidedly McCain to looking-like-Obama.

And now Mister "I'll run an honorable campaign" McCain has apparently
commissioned Her Bubbleheadedness to deliver Swift Boat slime balls:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/...ama/index.html

This thing is far from over...the same people who voted against their own
interests and put BushCo in the White House twice can't be counted upon not to
do McCain and the USA the same dubious favor...

Krauthammer is a very weird duck. I have never understood why he is

some of the spies caught over the last 2 decades. I have also wondered
why he has never been prosecuted under the hate speech laws of the
various states. But then there are lots of things I do not understand.

This story from St. Louis is what I see happening on a personal level
in Wausau. My kid is an Obama intern. He is working his azz off and
the experience is changing him for the better.

I find myself struggling with this concept of having a leader who I
really, really respect. I came to respect Carter after he left office
but in my entire adult life, with the exception of Robert Kennedy's
short lived run in '68 (and I was only 15 then), I've always seen the
person running who I ended up voting for as being a compromise. Not
this time. Geez, I'm too old for this. I was a real "Don't follow
leaders... watch your parking meters" kind of guy. Am I today. No. Do
I walk in lock step with Hopey. No. Do I trust his judgment to try to
find reasoned solutions to problems. "You betchya", to quote a certain
Alaskan.

OK. I make you the same offer I've made to several here - tell me why
_you_ think Obama would make a good POTUS. In fact, I'll up the stakes:
you can have my vote _if_ _you_ can convince me Obama will make a good
POTUS. And I think there are enough Obama supporters who know me
personally and that you would trust who will vouch for the fact that if
I say I'll do something, I'll do it.

A constitutional scholar as President of the United States. Amazing.
Just amazing.

Wow, that would be. Whom are you suggesting it might eventually be?

g.c.

And there you are,

that
they were not in the same part of the world):

So, when was the last time you answered a serious question, as you have
repeatedly stated you would do?

Seriously.

Moron.

Liar.

Actually I'd like to hop on this one as well. My vote is completely
up for grabs.
I don't get the "cult of personality" that seems to make everyone so
excited about
Obama. Right now I'm leaning towards voting for a 3rd party.

Why do you believe that Obama is the best choice for President?

Bush is the past (soon enough), so answers involving him are null and
void.
Why is this inexperienced nobody the best choice?

Uh, I believe you just answered your own question. Inexperienced
nobody. Works for me. He talks a *great* game, but he's dirtier than
a dirt road. Little is said about his "mentors*, or about Raines and
others who took tens of millions from FM and FrMac and are now working
for him. The company he keeps, past and present, smells of greed,
lies, socialism, etc. McCain may not be the perfect candidate, but he
is all we have right now. Again the Dems have outdone themselves.
First Gore (in a contest that should have been a sweep), Kerry (in
another contest that should have been a sweep), and now a nobody with
no experience *whatsoever* (in a contest that should have been a
sweep). We shouldn't even be *discussing* who is going to win. The
Dem candidate should have been a shoo-in this time around what with
the umpopularity of Bush. Perhaps it is the even more unpopular Dem
Congress that is causing the close contest.

I make out either way. Obama wins: Jo retires (yahoooo!) and the
expected suicide watches across the country are cancelled. McCain
wins: another Republican in the WH.

Besides, it ain't gonna matter much who wins. Trust me. It ain't
gonna matter.

Inn with a ghost)

This is such a joke. Both of you have made up your minds--such as they
are--so why should I give a **** how you vote?

If you need someone to make your choice for you, you don't need to go to the
polls on election day, you need to stay at home and play with your Lincoln
Logs.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I don't need anyone to make any choices for me. I simply challenged
George, not you or anyone else, to attempt to convince me Obama would
make a good POTUS...don't they teach even remedial reading skills up
there at Hillbilly U?

Just my 2 cents worth.

A scurrilous overcharge at any price.
